About Expressing Pride
Since the inaugural Expressing Pride Symposium in 2021, the Coalition for Queer Creative Arts Therapies has been proud to present an annual tradition during June Pride Month – a special free day of virtual learning, connection, and community building. Our mission is to honor and celebrate the profound impact of creative arts therapies within LGBTQIA+ communities, acknowledging the past, embracing the present, and envisioning a future where queer-affirming ethical best practices flourish for all we serve.
Join us as we come together each June, united by a shared passion for the arts, queer ethos of care, and healing social justice. This special day offers a unique opportunity to learn from dynamic presenters, engage in meaningful conversations, and connect with like-minded individuals who are dedicated to fostering a more inclusive and affirming world through creative arts therapies.
We believe that learning and growth should be accessible to everyone, and that's why we proudly offer this day of enriching experiences completely free of charge. Meet Our Team
The Coalition for Queer Creative Arts Thearpies is privileged to have an incredible and generous team of volunteers who are the driving force behind the annual Expressing Pride Symposium's success. These passionate individuals are devoted to creating a transformative experience for our community. As we strive to enhance the value of the symposium, we are currently working on accreditation for Continuing Education (CE) credits. We believe that professional growth should be accessible to all, and obtaining CE credits is an essential aspect of that journey. By seeking accreditation, we aim to provide attendees with the opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills while advancing their careers.
In our commitment to sustainability, we are also in the process of filing as a non-profit organization. This strategic step will enable us to secure future funding to cover basic event costs and ensure the continuity of Expressing Pride (and other yet-to-be-imagined Coalition offerings) for years to come. Moreover, our goal is to eventually offer a stipend to our presenters as a token of appreciation for their invaluable contributions to the symposium.
